What People's Say About Place

I had a great time with some friends catching up Emmy Squared!! The pizza was delicious the shaved Brussels salad was so good and I am so happy to have leftovers to enjoy it again!!

Came here for Sunday brunch—place was pretty empty but the staff were friendly and on top of making sure we were taken care of. I ordered the Chicken Parm Sandwich which was pretty good! Overall, not much else to say. I would come here again if it was chosen for a group meal.

I tried this place out because I am a native Detroiter. Pizza came very close. Tried the Meatsiah. Edges were crispy just like I like. The cheese was good. The sauce was okay. Also had the Zia fries. Absolutely delicious! I'd go back for both, but the Zia fries were perfect.

This restaurant is a must-visit for food lovers, especially if you’re craving top-tier comfort food. Their pizza is nothing short of phenomenal — featuring Detroit style dough that’s perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, topped with a rich, house-made sauce and a generous layer of premium, melted cheeses. Whether you go for a classic or a bold, loaded meat-lovers custom each pizza is bursting with flavor and crafted with care. Not to be outdone, their burgers are equally impressive — thick, juicy patties made from high-quality beef, cooked to perfection, and served on fresh, pretzel buns. The flavor combinations are creative yet satisfying, from smoky bacon and white cheddar to tangy pickles and zesty house sauces. Each bite delivers the perfect balance of savory, juicy, and satisfying. Thank you to our awesome server Roger for the wonderful recommendations and PHENOMENAL service. Lastly…to Chef Jaito thank you for the from scratch experience! Because of you this is the only Emmy’s we will visit from now on. Everything was delicious and the Brownie Sundae Skillet…HOT…FRESH AND DELICIOUS!!

This is going to be a mixed bag review. I will start off by saying I love the Detroit Style pizzas that Emmy Squared makes. When they are done right, they are fabulous. However, we have had our fair share of issues with the service, and occasionally with the pizzas. For example, the MVP pizza shown in the picture was clearly overcooked. It should never have been boxed up and given to a customer. Wait times at this location used to be completely unreliable and long. There was a management change though and I think they have largely gotten that under control now. Speaking of the management, they really are trying to improve the overall experience and I commend them on their effort so far. Again, I love Emmy Squared and want to see them do well. Just need a little more consistency on the experience every time we come in.

Roy the general manager is amazing! I came in on a day with a snow storm, I was the only customer inside and I was greeted with so much energy and enthusiasm. I had never been in person and just wanted to order takeout but he explained the whole menu to me and was so detailed! I absolutely recommend this location and thank him for picking up my spirit. I had to ask him his name because although I never do food reviews, you don't get food service like this anymore. You have gained a customer because of him. 10/10.

Awesome burger. Maybe the best I've ever had. A few weeks earlier I was in Chicago and ate at Au Cheval, which also claims the best burger in America. I think the Emmy burger beats it. Both are amazing obviously, but the cheese at Emmy puts it over the top. The staff was great and actually created a special dessert pizza which was a nice touch. The place is nice, but wasn't crowded. Good because I could get a table quickly, but wasn't much of a "scene". Au Cheval has a crazy good vibe.

As someone who frequents the area, I can confidently say Emmy Squared is one of Shaw-Howard’s best-kept secrets. We ordered the classic pizza—half pepperoni, half cheese—and were absolutely blown away. The dough was crisp yet airy, with toppings that struck the perfect balance of flavor and proportion. I was blown away at a dish I’d think would feel so heavy to eat was light and airy! It’s the kind of pizza that’s great for sharing, but honestly? You could easily devour a whole one solo if you’re hungry enough. We wrapped up our meal with the brownie skillet, and wow. The gooey chocolate, paired with ice cream and a touch of sea salt, was the ultimate savory-sweet finale. It’s indulgent without being over-the-top, and absolutely worth saving room for. A special shoutout to Roy, the general manager, who made our experience even better. His passion for the food and genuine care for every guest is palpable. He described each dish with such enthusiasm that I was salivating before the food even hit the table. I can’t recommend Emmy Squared highly enough. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this spot deserves a place on your must-try list. I’ll definitely be back—frequently.
